Terms of Use — Crane

These Terms of Use govern your use of Crane: Quit Gambling & Betting (the “App”), developed and published by Osman Dogan (DGN Apps). By downloading or using the App you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The App

Crane is a self-help tool for people who want to stop or cut down gambling. It provides a gambling-free day counter, an urge timer, a money-kept counter, help lines and self-exclusion links by country, a Safari content blocker (Crane Shield), a checklist of device and banking barriers (Lock Kit), check-ins, insights and a 30-day self-help path. A core set of features is free; additional features are available through Crane Pro.

2. Not medical, financial or legal advice

Crane is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, including gambling disorder. The content is general information and self-help exercises; it is not a substitute for advice, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified professional, nor for financial, debt or legal advice. Money figures in the App are estimates based on numbers you enter. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately.

3. Crane Shield and Lock Kit

Crane Shield blocks a list of known gambling websites in Safari only, and only while you keep it enabled in iOS Settings. No blocking list is complete and new gambling sites appear every day; Crane Shield cannot guarantee that every gambling site, app or payment is blocked. The Lock Kit explains optional steps using iOS Screen Time, your bank and official self-exclusion schemes; those services are provided by third parties under their own terms. Help-line details are provided for convenience; we check them regularly but cannot guarantee that numbers or opening hours remain current.

4. Crane Pro and subscriptions

• Crane Pro is offered as a yearly subscription (with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers), a monthly subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the App before you buy and may vary by country.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; please request them at reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. Your data

Your records are stored only on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your own device backups; we cannot recover data that is deleted from your device.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the App except as permitted by law.

7. Intellectual property

The App’s design, text, code and graphics belong to Osman Dogan, except the gambling domain list, which is derived from The Block List Project and released into the public domain under the Unlicense. All other rights reserved.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any losses arising from your use of the App, including gambling losses, missed reminders, inaccurate counts or loss of records.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change accordingly. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the new terms.
