Frequently asked questions

How does the day counter work?

Your streak starts at the date and time of your last bet, which you choose during setup. You can change it any time in Settings → Last bet. Every gambling-free day adds a fold to your crane; thirty days complete one crane.

What does “I have an urge” do?

It opens a guided timer of 5 to 20 minutes based on urge surfing. Rate the urge, breathe while the crane folds, read your own reasons, then rate the urge again. Most urges peak and pass within 15–20 minutes. Every urge you outlast joins your flock.

How is “money kept” calculated?

From the weekly amount you used to bet, multiplied by the time since your last bet. If you add an estimate of what gambling has cost you, Crane shows how much of it you have rebuilt. You can change these numbers on the Money tab → Edit.

How do I turn on Crane Shield?

Open iPhone Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → Crane Shield and switch on Allow Extension. Shield blocks more than 144,000 gambling sites in Safari without a VPN or profile. For other browsers and apps, follow the Lock Kit inside Crane (Screen Time age limits, web filter, a passcode held by someone you trust, your bank’s gambling block and self-exclusion).

A gambling site isn’t blocked. What can I do?

With Crane Pro you can add any site under Shield → Your own sites; it is blocked within seconds. You can also email us the address and we will add it to the next update.

I placed a bet. What now?

Tap “I placed a bet” at the bottom of the Today screen. Your best streak stays on record, the slip is logged without judgement, and a new crane begins.

What is free and what is Pro?

Free: your streak and crane, the urge timer, help lines and self-exclusion links, the money counter, daily check-ins, Crane Shield and the Lock Kit, and days 1–3 of the 30-Fold Path. Crane Pro adds the full path, Insights, Risk Plans, unlimited goals and your own blocked sites.

How do I restore or cancel my subscription?

To restore a purchase, tap Restore on the paywall or in Settings → Restore purchases. To cancel, open iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Crane. If you allow notifications, Crane reminds you two days before a free trial ends.

Can I hide what the app is?

Yes. Settings → Discreet icon replaces the Home Screen icon with a plain paper square, and Settings → Face ID lock keeps the App private.

Which languages are supported?

Crane follows your iPhone language: English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Português (Brasil) and Italiano.
