Sly Support — Imposter Party Game

Sly is the imposter party game for one phone and a room full of friends. Everyone secretly sees the same word — except the imposter, who only gets a hint. Give one-word clues, debate, vote, and catch the faker. Sly is developed and published by Osman Dogan (DGN Apps). It has no ads, no account and no tracking, and it works offline. Available in English, Deutsch and Español.

How to play

1. Peek in secret. Pass the phone around. Each player holds the card to see the secret word. The imposter sees “You’re the imposter” and a hint instead.
2. One word each. Starting with the player shown on screen, go around the circle. Say one word that proves you know the secret — without giving it away.
3. Debate. Who sounded off? Use the timer, accuse and defend.
4. Vote. Point at your suspect on three and choose them in the App. Catch the imposter and the crew scores; if the imposter escapes, they score double.
5. Last chance. A caught imposter can steal a point by guessing the secret word.

Frequently asked questions

How many players do I need?

At least 3, up to 24. With bigger groups you can add more imposters (Rules → Imposters).

What are the game modes?

Classic: everyone gets the word except the imposter. Undercover: the imposter gets a similar word and doesn’t know they are the imposter. Questions (Sly+): everyone answers a question out loud, but the imposter secretly got a different one.

Is the imposter really random?

Yes — and fair. Sly lowers the chance of picking the same person again right away, and nobody is imposter three rounds in a row. By default the imposter never has to give the first clue (you can change this in Rules).

The hint was too easy / too hard.

Change Rules → Imposter hint: “Category + clue” (easiest), “Category only”, or “None — hard mode”. With several imposters, each one gets a different clue so they can’t expose each other.

Can I play in another language?

Yes. Open Word packs (or Settings) and choose “Words in” English, Deutsch or Español. Every language has its own local packs — not just translations. The App’s menus follow your iPhone language; you can change it in iOS Settings → Sly → Language.

Do words repeat?

Sly remembers recently used words and won’t repeat a word until you have played through the selected packs.

How do I make my own pack?

Open Word packs → Make your own, give it a name and type words separated by commas or new lines. Free players can create one custom pack; Sly+ unlocks unlimited packs.

What is Sly+? Is it a subscription?

No. Sly+ is a single one-time purchase — no subscription, no renewals, no ads. It unlocks all 30 packs, Questions mode, mystery imposter counts and unlimited custom packs, plus every pack we add later.

I bought Sly+ but it’s locked on my new iPhone.

Open Settings → Restore purchase while signed in with the same Apple Account. With Family Sharing, family members can restore it too.

Does Sly need the internet?

No. Everything works offline — great for trips, cabins and planes.
