Daim: Prayer & Qada TrackerPrivacy Policy

Privacy Policy — Daim

Effective date: September 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Daim: Prayer & Qada Tracker (the “App”, “we”, “us” or “our”), an iPhone app developed and published by Osman Dogan (DGN Apps), handles your information. Daim is private by design: it has no account, no server, no advertising and no analytics. Your prayers are between you and Allah.

1. The short version

We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. Your prayer log, qada (missed prayer) counts, statistics and settings are saved only on your iPhone. The App does not send any data to a server operated by us or by any third party.

2. Information stored on your device

To work, the App keeps the following in its private storage on your device (shared only between the App and its own Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets through an App Group container that other apps cannot access):

  • Prayer log: for each day, the status you record for each prayer (for example in congregation, on time, late, made up, missed or excused), optional sunnah prayers and fasts.
  • Qada data: the counts of prayers and fasts you owe and have made up, your daily plan, and — if you use the qada calculator — the values you entered (such as date of birth, age of puberty, the date you began praying regularly and, if you choose to enter them, average menstruation length and number of births). These values are used only to calculate the estimate on your device.
  • Location for prayer times: the city name, coordinates and time zone you choose or allow the App to detect.
  • Settings: calculation method, madhab options, reminder preferences and appearance.

This information never leaves your device through the App. If your iPhone is backed up by Apple (iCloud or computer backup), that backup is handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.

3. Location

If you allow it, the App reads your approximate location while it is in use to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. The calculation happens entirely on your iPhone. To show the name of your city, and when you search for a city by name, the App uses Apple’s system location services (Core Location and MapKit), which may contact Apple’s servers under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We never receive your location. You can instead choose a city manually and deny location access at any time in iOS Settings.

4. Notifications

If you turn on reminders, the App asks for permission to show notifications. Prayer-time reminders and “Have you prayed?” check-ins are scheduled locally on your iPhone by iOS. When you tap “Prayed” on a notification, the App records it on your device. No data is sent to us or to a push-notification server.

5. Information we do not collect

Daim does not require an account, sign-in, email address, phone number or name. It does not collect contacts, photos, health data, advertising identifiers or device identifiers. It contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting services.

6. Backups you export

You can export a backup file (JSON) from Settings and share it with the iOS share sheet. The file goes only where you choose to send it. Restoring a backup reads the file you select on your device.

7. Children

The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Deleting your data

Use Settings → Your data → Erase all data in the App, or delete the App from your iPhone. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
