Afterglow: No ContactPrivacy Policy

Privacy Policy — Afterglow

Effective date: October 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Afterglow: No Contact (the “App”, “we”, “us” or “our”), an iPhone app developed and published by Osman Dogan (DGN Apps), handles your information. Afterglow is private by design: it has no account, no server, no advertising and no analytics.

1. The short version

We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. Everything you enter — your streak, check-ins, reasons, letters and settings — is saved only on your iPhone. The App does not send your content to any server operated by us or by any third party.

2. Information stored on your device

  • Your journey: the date and time of your last contact, your first name or nickname (optional), the situation you chose, and the struggles you selected during setup.
  • Check-ins and urges: your daily mood, urge levels and optional notes, and a record of each time you used Rescue.
  • Reasons and letters: the reasons you wrote and any letters you chose to seal in the vault. Letters you “release” are not saved anywhere.
  • Healing path progress: the days you marked complete and any reflection you typed.
  • Settings: reminder time, Face ID lock preference and similar choices.

This information never leaves your device through the App. If your iPhone is backed up by Apple (iCloud or a computer backup), that backup is handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.

3. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets

To show your streak, the App shares exactly two values with its own widget through an App Group container that other apps cannot access: the date and time of your last contact, and whether Afterglow Pro is active. No letters, notes, reasons or check-ins are shared with the widget.

4. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the App schedules them locally on your iPhone: an optional evening check-in, a quiet note on each milestone, and — only if you start a free trial — one reminder two days before it ends. No notification content or token is sent to us.

5. Face ID and passcode

If you turn on the lock, the App uses Apple’s Local Authentication framework. Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS; the App never receives or stores it.

6. Purchases

Afterglow Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details, name or Apple ID. The App only learns, through StoreKit on your device, whether a purchase is active.

7. Information we do not collect

Afterglow does not require an account, email address, phone number or name. It does not collect contacts, photos, location, health records, advertising identifiers or device identifiers. It contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting service.

8. Exporting and deleting your data

In Settings you can export your journal as a text file and share it wherever you choose, or erase everything with “Start over”. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Deleting the App also removes its data from your iPhone.

9. Children

Afterglow is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

10. If you are in crisis

Afterglow is a self-help tool, not a medical service. If you are thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away (for example 988 in the United States, Samaritans 116 123 in the UK and Ireland, Telefonseelsorge 0800 111 0 111 in Germany). The App can show a helpline for your region in Settings.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
