WhereWasIt Support
WhereWasIt is a memory coach for the things you hide and rarely touch: the spare key, the passport, emergency cash, a gift you are saving. Photograph the spot, pin the thing on the photo, and short spaced memory checks keep the location in your head. When you need it, a flashlight leads you back, spot by spot. WhereWasIt works offline on iPhone and iPad and is developed and published by Osman Dogan.

Frequently asked questions
How do I try it before adding my own things?
On the Find tab, tap Explore a sample home. It adds a clearly labelled sample home with photographed spots, pins and memory checks. Remove it any time in Settings → Remove sample home.
How do I hide something and pin it?
Tap Hide something, take or choose a photo of the thing, name it and choose a spot. If the spot has a photo, tap Pin the exact spot on the photo and tap where it rests. Add a hint for future you, such as “behind the shoebox”.
How do spots and spot photos work?
Spots nest as deeply as your home does, for example Home → Bedroom → Wardrobe → Box. Open a spot and add a photo; inner spots and things can then be pinned on it. Replacing a photo clears the pins on it, so you can place them again.
What are memory checks?
For things you choose, WhereWasIt asks now and then where they are. Each correct answer schedules the next check further out (1, 3, 7, 14, 30, 60 and 120 days); a miss shows the spot again and starts sooner. Optional reminders are local notifications and never include the names of your things.
What is a secret spot?
Mark a thing or a spot as secret and it is blurred everywhere, including search and Siri answers, until you unlock it with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. It locks again when you leave the app.
Can I ask Siri?
Yes. Say “Find something in WhereWasIt” (or use the Shortcuts app) and name the thing. Siri answers with its spot and your hint. Secret things are never read out.
How do QR box labels work?
Open a spot and choose Box label. In Spots, tap Scan a box label to scan it with the camera, or choose a photo of a label. A label holds only a private code, never a list of what is inside.
The background removal didn’t work well.
It runs on your device with Apple Vision. Plain backgrounds and good light give the best results. You can tap Try again or keep the original photo.
What is included in WhereWasIt Pro?
Free includes 50 things, secret spots, the flashlight finder and memory checks for 5 things. WhereWasIt Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription: unlimited things and memory checks, printable A4/US Letter QR label sheets and exports that include your photos. The App Store shows the price before you confirm.
How do I restore WhereWasIt Pro?
Sign in with the Apple Account that made the purchase and open Settings → Restore purchases. Restoring brings back Pro, not data stored on an old device.
Where is my data?
Only on your device. WhereWasIt has no account, no server and no cloud sync. Keep a device backup, or export JSON or CSV in Settings before deleting the app or replacing your device.
