Frequently asked questions
How do I start a job?
Open Jobs, tap New job, enter a job name and save. Client details and notes are optional. Add a named photo spot for each area you want to document, then add its Before and After photos. Built-in detailing, cleaning and renovation templates are available in Studio.
How do the camera and Match Shot work?
Choose Take photo from a Before or After photo button and allow camera access when prompted. To change a denied permission, open your device’s Settings and find BeforeAfter’s camera permission. When a Before photo already exists, Match Shot shows it as a transparent reference in the camera so you can line up the After photo. For existing damage, add a condition record that needs only a Before photo.
How do I create and share a report?
Open a job with at least one photo and tap Create report. Review the PDF, then tap Share PDF and choose a destination such as Mail, Messages or AirDrop. Reports reflect the latest version of the job. Jobs with incomplete documentation remain drafts.
What is free and what is Pro?
The free workspace includes up to 3 jobs and 5 photo spots per job, all comparison views, Match Shot, templates and standard PDF reports. The fictional sample job does not count toward the job limit.
BeforeAfter Pro is an optional one-time purchase. It adds unlimited jobs and photo spots, your logo on PDF reports, removal of BeforeAfter branding from reports, and branded 1080 × 1350 marketing image export. Pro is not a subscription. You can open the Pro screen at any time from Studio → Explore Pro.
How do I restore Pro?
Use the Apple Account that made the original purchase. Open Studio, tap Explore Pro and choose Restore purchases. An internet connection to the App Store is required. Restoring Pro does not transfer job photos between devices.
Where are my photos stored?
Jobs and photos are stored in BeforeAfter on your device. The app has no account login and no developer-operated photo server. Data may be included in your Apple device backups depending on your settings. Uninstalling the app removes its local workspace, so keep copies of important reports and original photos.
What is the sample job?
New installations include one clearly labeled sample job with fictional details and AI-generated photos, so you can try the comparison views and reports right away. You can delete it from its menu and add it again from Studio. BeforeAfter does not use AI to create or alter your own photos.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
